There is nothing like the excitement over a new baby. From the moment a woman finds out she is pregnant, there are so many emotions. Maybe some nerves. But the general feeling is an overwhelming excitement. Life is going to change and a new tiny human to love is going to enter your life soon!

They had just built a farmhouse in a secluded area in Southern Kentucky. A place where their children could let their imaginations run wild. A place they could explore all that nature had to offer. When we pulled up, we heard a chorus of children’s voices shouting a gleeful “good morning!”

As she looks at her new one, she can remember it seemed not long ago she was a first-time mom with her first baby girl. Where has the time gone? This is one reason we need to capture this precious time in their lives. Every week they change, even almost every day. But for now, she’s tiny, able to fit in the crook of momma’s arm.

When they signed up for foster care, never in their wildest dreams would they have been able to bring a perfect little girl home from the hospital and adopt her within the first year. But God knew. She is just what they needed. And they are just what she needed.

She tried to tell us she isn’t good at getting her photos taken, but I think you will quickly see that isn’t true. Every single thing we asked her to do, every single pose was done flawlessly. And just one look at the back of our camera and her mother started crying.

Whether they were twirling, walking, or just overlooking the pond, they totally nailed their session. See, if you are this in love, it is bound to show in the images. It was our pleasure to photograph something so beautiful. Both the landscape and the relationship are pure joy and beauty.

An ornate flower headband and layers of dusty rose tulle practically begged to be photographed. We used her great-grandmother’s chair. Her mother had a very special attachment to her own grandmother, so it was dreamy that it could all be tied in together. And it matched perfectly!

When she walked out of the house in that floor length blush dress with her hair and makeup professionally done by a close friend, I could’ve sworn this was a styled shoot and she was a model that had been hired. I am not just being nice when I say I was blown away!

They mentioned this golf course in Bowling Green, KY, at least a certain hole, reminded them of Scotland. So it was perfect to see them in plaid for their winter portraits! Watching them walk, the outfits were so well coordinated, I felt like they should be in a catalog. And they had the smiles to match 🙂

And the best part was when the judge pronounced them officially family. There were kisses and hugs. There was clapping. And there were lots of smiles! The entire courtroom exploded in applause. It was a moment I will not soon forget. So happy for this amazing family on their adoption day!
